Abstract

|
Non-parasitic splenic cysts are rare clinical and pathologic entities.
A correct pre-operative diagnosis of splenic cyst is difficult and it is believed that an accurate preoperative diagnosis can be accomplished by a combination of scanning and arteriography. Investigators have emphasized selective arteriography for definitive diagnosis. Current treatment consists of elective splenectomy after definitive preoperative evaluation. Authors had experienced a case of non-parasitic, splenic cyst who was, discharged without any complication after operation. The size of cyst was 12 cm by 10 cm by 8 cm and weight was about 300gm.
A case of non-parasitic splenic cyst is presented with a brief review of literatures.
